Yesterday all of our Mont Blanc groups who were in the Gouter Refuge reached the summit. Here are Guy and Chris with Paulo on the top of Mont Blanc, after making a very quick ascent. These guys really proved the importance of prior acclimatisation, as they had been in Chamonix training for part of the week before, and they flew up the mountain. While speed isn’t everything, it does provide a good margin of safety, and minimises the time that the effects of altitude sickness have to affect you. Congratulations to all yesterdays summit teams, especially Danielle who topped out on her 30th birthday. Not a bad way to celebrate in style!
