Kilimanjaro snows

We often get asked about the snowfall and state of the icecaps on Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. Rather than quote scientific hypotheses about how long the ice will last, here’s a photo that Dick sent us from his recent successful ascent of Kilimanjaro with Icicle, so you can see for yourself the coverage of the ice and snowfields at present. This great picture is into the caldera, and shows the lip of the Western Breach and Reusch Crater. Good luck to all those on our current trip, who set off yesterday. If you are planning a trip to ascend this amazing mountain, and one of the 7 Summits, visit the itinerary at; http://www.icicle-mountaineering.ltd.uk/kilimanjaro.shtml
